Troubleshooting exercise

Introduction

The troubleshooting exercise consists of an AGC-4 DG (genset controller) and an AGC-4 Mains (grid connection controller) tied together in a power management system.

The controllers in the power management system use CAN bus to communicate with each other it is therefore vital that a good connection is made and the controllers are aligned with each other.

This exercise is consist of smaller milestones by solving the milestones, you make the system function as it should.

The functional goal 1: is that if a mains failure occurs.

  1. Mains failure
  2. Start the genset
  3. Open the mains breaker
  4. Close the genset breaker
  5. Close the tie breaker
  6. Supply the load

 

The functional goal 2: is that when the mains is healthy again.

  1. Healthy Mains
  2. Synchronize the mains breaker
  3. Deload the tie breaker
  4. Open the tie breaker
  5. Open the genset breaker
  6. Stop the genset

All the issues are not due to wiring problems, but only incorrect configuration and programming of the controllers.

The exercises will guide you through the utility software. You will get a better understanding of where and how to look for potential problems. so you all in all you will achieve a better diagnostics flow when working with an AGC-4 controller.
